IGCP-724 attended the 2023 annual meeting hosted by China National Committee for IGCP and gave the project work report
The 2023 Annual Meeting hosted by China National Committee was held on 18th and 19th December. Prof. Zengqian Hou, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of China National Committee for IGCP chaired the opening ceremony. Ms ?zlem ADIYAMAN LOPES representing the UNECSO, Mr. Changwei Qin from the secretariat of the of UNESCO in China, and Prof. Qiuming Chen, former chairman of the IUGS attended the meeting delivered welcome speeches respectively.
IGCP-724 leaders Ying Li and Giovanni Martinelli, Project secretary Le Hu attended the meeting. Ying Li reported the research background and progress of the project, research results and the key work in the next step; Giovanni Martinelli introduced his recent study results related to the project.
IGCP-724 finished the tasks well in the second year of the project execution. All of project members have made a concentrated effort to finish the work. We organized two international conferences which attract over 5900 researchers throughout the world, conducted field scientific investigations in Turkiye after the double 7.8 destructive earthquakes, finished training course facing scientists form developing countries, started monthly meeting among all leaders, attended international conference to publicize the project, published 22 papers, updated our website timely, and etc.
In the next step, the project will still fully utilize the IGCP cooperation platform, further enhance communication and exchange ideas among scientists from participating countries, jointly apply for international cooperation projects, participate international academic conferences to advertise the latest achievements, and continuously improve the international impact of the project.
