Wu Zhongliang, Director of the Institute of Earthquake Forecasting (IEF), CEA, signed draft memorandums of understanding (MOU) with John E. Vidale, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) on May 16, 2018 in Beijing. The two sides reached consensus on strengthening researcher exchanges, jointly applying for Sino-U.S. Cooperation Programs, promoting education cooperation and exchanges, and jointly organizing symposia.
